The screening of My Name Is Khan has been hit with four exhibitors — Big Cinemas, Fun Cinemas, Gaiety Galaxy and Maratha Mandir — deciding against releasing the movie on Friday.
The exhibitors say the security situation doesn’t warrant release of the Shah Rukh Khan-starrer movie.
“The security provided is adequate but at the same time the atmosphere which has been created is not good. Entertainment cannot happen in this tense environment,” said Fun Cinema CEO Vishal Kapoor.
However, Kaporr refused to blame Shah Rukh Khan for the controversy surrounding the film.
I don’t blame Shah Rukh for this. Everybody has got the right to speak for themselves,” said Kapoor.
“Nobody wants the Mumbaikers or their property hurt & destroyed. Least of all me. I may not have the same ideologies as the Sena but on the question of me being a patriot, I don’t think there should be any confusion. Feel awful that Balasahib and Uddhav have misconstrued my words. The reactions of the Sena workers seems to make me believe that,” Shahrukh Khan tweeted.
Addressing a press conference in Abu Dhabi, where the worldwide premiere of his film was held, Shah Rukh Khan said, “I hope everything works out well and better sense prevails.”
Shah Rukh also said that since he was sitting away from his country, he wouldn’t like to speak more on the issue because, he added, “the scenario in India is changing every minute”.
Talking about his statement on Pakistani players being taken in IPL season III, Khan said that it was a normal stand that he took.
Besides Shah Rukh Khan, actress Kajol and director Karan Johar among others were present at the press conference.
Talking about his onscreen reunion with Kajol after eight years, Shah Rukh said, “Kajol has become more mature as an actor. Our films have brought us closer as friends.”
“The most beautiful part about Kajol is her earnestness which hasn’t changed at all even after so many years,” he added.

Shiv Sena supremo Bal Thackeray called Shahrukh Khan ‘a traitor’, but said that Sena will not block screening of SRK’s film.
In an editorial in Sena mouthpiece Saamna on Saturday, Thackeray said: “Sometimes we feel why are we doing all this? How do we awaken this Congress party? That’s why we have decided rule the way you want to. You have come to power using the machinery. Hence we are aware of how far reaching your power. You are using and will continue to use your power to brutally attack the Shiv Sena, Shiv Sainiks and Saamna. This is how you rule. So go ahead. Let Pakistani cricketer play anywhere they want in the country. Let Australia
continue attacking Indians. Let Pakistan continue 26/11 like attacks anywhere in India
. Let Shah Rukh Khan show his film My Name Is Khan without security,” Thackeray said.
“Traitors, with the blessings of the Congress, go ahead; the Shiv Sena will not block you. Why our Shiv Sainiks should be beaten up and arrested?” he added.
