Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt who is the son of legendary actors Nargis and Sunil Dutt wants to be like his father Sunil Dutt and support his family.

While talking to reporters, Sanjay said, “I want to be like my father. Dutt saheb was like a great support in our lives. I want to be exactly like him. But I would also tell my kids how was I during my childhood days and that don’t be like me.”

Sanjay Dutt has three children – his eldest daughter is Trishala from his first wife Richa who died due to brain tumour and after marrying with Manyata in 2008, he became proud father of twins – Shahraan and Iqra.

The 52-year-old actor admits that he couldn’t spend much time with his daughter Trishala because she grew up in the US. But now he tries to spend some time with his twins.

Sanjay Dutt said: “I have never enjoyed my fatherhood with Trishala. I have missed all those golden moments. So now it’s a wonderful experience for me. It’s a beautiful feeling.”

About establishing in Bollywood and stardom, he said, “An actor doesn’t make a mark in the showbiz because of the parents. Dutt saheb had launched me (with Rocky in 1981), but later what you have within you, you have to prove that. Stardom is something where a person needs to be open about all his moves and that is the price that you have to pay for that.”

Sanjay has worked in many hit Bollywood films such as Saajan, Naam, Sadak, Vastav, Khalnayak and the Munnabhai series.

“No matter how big a star you are, but if you keep yourself rooted then it is good for you. Main thing is to be a good human being. The public made me a star, so how I approach my fans that matters a lot,” he said.

Most of the Bollywood’s A-list actors charges handsome amount and now Sanjay Dutt who delivered biggest hit of 2012 ‘Agneepath’ wants to charge Rs.10 crore for his next project.

Talking about Dutt’s price hike CEO Dharam Oberoi says, “Every actor raises his price after a big success. If Sanju has delivered the biggest hit of 2012 so far, doesn’t he deserve the hike?”

He added, “People cheered him at the election campaigning too.”

Lets see how producers will react to it. Bollywood’s leading Khans charges Rs.27 crore, Hrithik takes home Rs.20 crore, Ajay Devgn charges Rs.18 crore and Ranbir Kapoor is getting Rs.12 crore post the success of his film ‘Rockstar’.

Sanjay Dutt has won numerous applauds for himself after performing great villain act as Kancha Cheena in Karan Johar’s recent released ‘Agneepath’. Now the actor has been offered to do an item number in his upcoming film ‘Zilla Ghaziabad’ along with South Indian actress Shreya Saran. Bappi Lahiri’s son Bappa will compose the item song for Sanjay Dutt which is titled as Main Item No.1.

Earlier the item song was not planned in the film but now the makers have decided to add it. A source from the sets of the film revealed, “Sanjay’s character is rugged. He doesn’t sing or dance. But after Agneepath, the makers decided to include an item song with Sanjay in it.”

Ganesh Acharya who choreographed Katrina in ‘Chikni Chameli’ item song will work on Sanjay-Shreya’s item number in the film which will be shot in Kamalistan studio.

When producer Vinod Bachchan was contacted to confirm it, he said, “Yes, we have decided to add an item song featuring Dutt saab. And it is going to surprise everyone.”

Sanjay Dutt who hosts the Big Boss season 5 on TV has to cancel his New Year holiday plans due to shooting schedule. Though Salman Khan too is a co-anchor of the show but it seems he would not be available to shoot on December 31 and that is why channel has requested Sanjay Dutt to shoot for a special episode for New Years Eve celebration.

A source says, “Sanjay had planned the family trip around Christmas and had planned to return only after January 1.

He waited for his flick Agneepath’s trailer launch on Friday and the show’s shoot on Saturday and planned his departure only after these events.

But the makers of Bigg Boss planned a special episode shoot on December 31 and the channel authorities requested Sanjay to be present for it.”

The source adds, “He decided to return on December 30. He will fly in a chopper to Karjat on December 31 for the special episode shoot.”

Channel had no option left with them except requesting Sanjay to cancel his vacation trip because Salman was not available for the shoot. The source informs, “As a result he decided to be professional and not let personal reasons overrule.” Now Sanjay Dutt will celebrate his New Year in Mumbai.
