Earlier Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor were promoting their upcoming film Agent Vinod separately but now they came together to promote it because it is releasing tomorrow. About promoting together Saif says, “I wanted to save the best for the last.”

The actor adds, “We have been promoting the film separately, expectations do change with an off-screen couple and it is an interesting thing to learn how to deal with that. I was anxious before I saw the film, but now I am fine. It has got action, good story, plot, beautiful women (laughs)…everything that sells.”

When Saif was asked that what he does during the day of release. He says, “I spend a lot of time in the bathroom.” He adds, “Actually, I have never had a release that is so important in a way. Today I would like to go and see the film in both, multiplex and single screen theatres. I have been involved from the title to the release, so the journey in making this film has been far more interesting. It is slightly surreal feeling to see it on screen now.”

On doing more films with Kareena, Saif says, “Depending upon the script, I would love to do more films with her. She is a great actor, has great screen presence and a professional co-star. In this film we wanted to bring her out of the comfort zone into action, adventure and edgy space. She looks good in action.”

About his recent fight, Saif says, “people keep talking about it.” Saif was asked if this controversy will help his film. The actor replied, “I hope not… it has to be more healthy…”

Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan is promoting his upcoming action film ‘Agent Vinod’ in which he will be seen opposite Kareena Kapoor, his real life girlfriend.

The actor is ready to make its sequel if ‘Agent Vinod’ will get good response at the box office.

During an interview, Saif told reporters, “I want to take one step at a time. If the audience like the film and they want more, we would go forward with it. I think the film is perfect for a franchise but it is too early to talk about it.”

He added, “The film has taken about three years. I got lots of bumps and bruises along the way but it was worth it because I felt it could be something. If it becomes a franchise, it would be a dream project.”

Saif has produced ‘Agent Vinod’ and Sriram Raghavan who directed Saif in negative role in ‘Ekk Hassina Thi’ has directed it.

Talking about director, the 41-year-old actor said, “That film was a little ahead of its time but Agent Vinod is releasing on the right time. Sriram Raghvan is a very interesting director and he has done something remarkable in this film too.”

Saif has done peppy dance number in the song ‘Pungi’. About the song, he said, “There is a sequence in the film when Agent Vinod is being watched in a close circuit camera. We wanted to show the audience that Agent Vinod is capable of humour. People may think that he is a copy of James Bond but he is very Indian.Pungi is a lovely song. I made half of the steps myself. It was good fun.”

Saif believes that film will do well for two weeks at the box office, the actor says, “We are not interested in the word of mouth. It is for small films. The hype of a big budget film should match with the numbers. The idea is to create as much buzz as possible. We are hoping for a good two weeks at the box office initially.”

Saif also shares his thought on the kind of films he wants to do, he says, “The long term goal is to work on interesting stories, try to improve the quality of films. They change with generation. You try to put your ideas and thoughts into the mainstream. I like to do darker films or stories which take you out of your comfort zone and surprise you.”

Saif Ali Khan has launched the poster and trailer of his upcoming film ‘Agent Vinod’. The film bears resemblance of James Bond movies because Its look shows the use of guns, cars, motorbikes, helicopters and glamorous actress but Saif says his film is very much Indian and not the copy of James Bond.

When Saif was unveiling the first look of ‘Agent Vinod’, he told reporters, “This (comparison) would be very stupid thing to do. James Bond is an English character. He was the representative of capitalism against Communist Russia. He is a capitalist hero, who drinks and womanises, and he is a hero who saves the world.”

“When you see the first scene of our film you will realise that it is an Indian hero who is very different from the Bond character because we did not want to make a copy of Bond film.”

The actor feels that audience always like watching such movies. He said, “I think India always had interest in characters that are special forces whether it is Mithun Chakroborty’s `Surakshaa’ or Akshay Kumar’s Mr Bond.

“These films generated interests. So we thought if we could make it in a contemporary way, given the emerging global Indian personalities and global problems it would be interesting to create a character that would be completely India.”

Talking about his character in the film, Saif said, “Vinod does not try to be English, he is very Indian. The way I perform my character is completely rooted in Indian humour and sensibilities. He is a strong Indian character…he will not remind you of James Bond.”

Saif’s production ‘Agent Vinod’ is slated to release on March 23.

Kareena Kapoor was last seen doing action sequences in her 2008 released ‘Tashan’ but now actress informs she will be seen performing stunts in her upcoming film ‘Agent Vinod’ in which she has shared screen space with beau Saif Ali Khan.

About action sequence in the film, Kareena says, “Yes, it’s true. I have always stated that action stuff isn’t for me but for Agent Vinod, I ended up doing a lot of stunts.”

Shooting of the film has been completed and it is slated to release on 23 March, 2012. Kareena also explained why she did stunts in the film, she says, “He would keep saying, ‘it’s not tough. And you look very good doing stunts.’ And now, I keep telling Saif that he made me do stunts throughout the film saying the same thing.”

Earlier the actress injured herself why shooting for a stunt sequence for the film but continued shooting after taking painkillers.

When the actress was asked what kind of film she would prefer to do next with Saif, she replies, “I would like to do a romantic film — something along the lines of Hum Tum (2004 movie directed by Kunal Kohli) — with Saif. I really hope someone soon offers us a story like that soon.”

Though the real life couple Saif and Kareena have not confirmed about their marriage but earlier they have stated that after the release of ‘Agent Vinod’ they would get married. So we can also expect that news sometime soon in near future. Watch this space for more.

Kareena Kapoor was seen along with her beau Saif Ali Khan, mother Babita Kapoor and sister Karishma Kapoor on their way to Midnight Mass. The actress and her family went to St Andrew’s grounds. About going to St Andrews, Kareena says, “We had to go to St Andrew’s as we couldn’t get seats at Mt Mary. It was extremely crowded. Normally our driver goes and reserves some seats earlier, but this year he couldn’t even do that. My mom has bad knees and she can’t stand for long, so we went to St Andrew’s. It was very quiet and peaceful there.”

Recently it was reported that Saif will do a smooch scene with Deepika in their upcoming film ‘Race 2’ but Saif is upset with this news. He wants to clarify that there wouldn’t be any kissing scene in his films because he and Kareena have decided that they wouldn’t do kissing scene in their films.

A source close to the Saif says, “During the release of their last film Aarakshan, there was buzz that Saif and Deepika had become very fond of each other. Now with Race 2 around the corner, everyone’s talking about the kissing scene. Saif wants to nip these rumours in the bud. He even plans to talk to Deepika about it.”

Saif and Kareena have also informed their filmmakers about no kissing scene in their films. The source adds, “With marriage imminent early next year, they don’t want any controversies. Even in the case of Madhur Bhandarkar’s Heroine, Kareena has made it clear that she won’t do kissing scenes. For Race 2, Saif had communicated the same to directors Abbas-Mustaan.”

Saif says, “There are no kissing scenes in Race 2.” His spokesperson adds, “Kareena and Saif had decided on a no-kissing policy sometime ago.”

Well! It was heard that Saif and Deepika will do an intimate scene in ‘Race 2’, now will see if intimate scene will be shot without ‘Kissing’ each other.

Deepika is ready to go a step further in her upcoming film ‘Race 2’. So far actress has done lip-lock scenes in her past films and she has no problem in wearing short dress on large screen but now she agreed to do a very intimate scene with Saif in Race 2.

A source informed to Mumbai Mirror that Deepika will shoot her steamy sequence with Saif in Mumbai or Turkey. And initially actress took some time before agreeing to do the steamy scene for the film.

A source from sets of Race 2 informed, “She is a thorough professional. Realising that Race 2 will be slicker than Race, she had a long meeting with Abbas-Mustan and requested the directors to shoot the scene aesthetically.”

One of Deepika’s friends confirmed the news and said, “Yes, Deepika does have a very intimate scene with Saif in Race 2. However, she has requested that the scene be shot in a way that it appears relevant to the script.”

Talking about the steamy scene director Abbas-Mustan said, “It is a turning point in the film.”

Saif and Kareena have told earlier that they would announce about their marriage in advance. But the Bollywood is full of buzz that Kareena and Saif are preparing for their big day.

Saif has recently ordered for a selection of diamond ring from a jeweller in Mumbai and has finalized one diamond ring for Kareena Kapoor.

A source informed to Mumbai Mirror, “Saif had asked for a selection of diamond rings from this jeweler based out of Bandra. They sent him rings of different cuts and carats. He had asked for princess cut diamonds and also a few other shapes.”

Earlier also Saif has gifted a one carat diamond ring to Bebo in 2007.

“Kareena and Saif are ready to tie the knot in February next year. In fact, Saif had started ordering various designs of rings for a while now. He took his time deciding on the perfect ring for his girl and finally took the one he liked about a week back,” revealed the source.

Recently Kareena to admitted about being in love with Saif and said, “Of course, I want to marry Saif. Doesn’t every woman want to take her relationship to the next level? Saif and I are definitely going to marry.” She added, “I am a lucky girl. There is love, so there can never be any infidelity.”

Though both Kareena and Saif are not confirming their wedding date but the preparation for marriage is being done. Report is that Ritu Kumar is designing a befitting dress for the royal bride-to-be.

Knowing the preparation for marriage, one can say wedding day is not far.
