Sonakshi Sinha is in news again but not for her movies or performance in the film, she is making headlines due to her weight gain problem.

Recently there was news that director Shirish Kunder who is casting Sonakshi in ‘Joker has’ asked her to lose some weight for an item number.

Sonakshi is upset with this news and says, “Such reports come out without checking with Shirish or me. It’s in bad taste because you (media) are being personal and ridiculous. If it were true, I wouldn’t have five films lined up.” She added, “Yes, Shirish has asked me to do a song. And I think it is time to prove that curvy can also be beautiful as well.”

Recently she has been praised by choreographer Saroj Khan for her classical number in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s forthcoming film ‘Rowdy Rathore’. Saroj ji gave her Rs.101 as shagun.

According to Unit members of Joker, Sonakshi shot a song with Akshay Kumar for Joker in Film City, she was dressed up in heavy sari and gave lots of complex expression during her dance sequence. Her performance was about teasing boys at the occasion of wedding.

Sonakshi further talked about what she feels about her weight, she says, “I work hard to maintain myself and always try to look better. But I don’t believe in going to an extreme or being stick-thin.

Also if I have been accepted for the way I look, why would I do anything to change it? There is pressure from a lot of people, but that’s not what my audience wants. I’m happy with the way I look.”

Even before starring in Dabangg she was weighing 90 kg and lost 30 kg for suiting the character.

She has many films in her hands such as Rowdy Rathore, Shrish’s Kick with Salman, Abbas-Mustan’s Race 2 and Ajay Devgn’s SOS – Son Of Sardar.

Talking about SOS, Sonakshi says, “I immediately agreed to do SOS; it is a great story with action and comedy. I was waiting for such a script to come across.”

It’s not been an easy month for Priyanka Chopra. The onus of constant promotions and marketing of her new film has fallen solely on her shoulders and that has taken its toll on her nerves. Priyanka, say people close to her, has turned snappy.
Given her habitual savour-fair and characteristic composure, it came as a shock to know that the actress got into a heated verbal duel with a man in Delhi who was out to rattle her.

That he succeeded in doing so is indicative of how anxious and nervous Priyanka has become about holding on to the formidable position of being one of the few leading ladies today who can prop up a film on her shoulders. Also, it was her identity that was being repeatedly questioned.

The incident happened in Delhi on Tuesday (Feb 15) evening at the recording of a lengthy interactive interview in Delhi. A man, apparently from Punjab, piped in to accuse Priyanka of “not being a Punjabi”.

Says a member of the actress’s entourage, “Priyanka was taken aback by the accusation. At first, she laughed it off saying she is very much a Punjabi. But the man kept piping in loudly that she had done nothing for Punjab or Punjabis. Priyanka, finally, told him to shut up and quit.”

The man disappeared from the venue soon after, but only after having spoilt the milieu and mood irreversible with his malevolent chauvinism.

Priyanka, known to be extremely warm to fans, was hurt by the vehemence of the accusation. The spokesperson for Saat Khoon Maaf confirmed the ugly incident.

“It was weird and inopportune, Priyanka’s Punjabiyat had nothing to do with the occasion. We don’t know where the man came from and where he disappeared. But the whole incident was suspicious,” he said.

Priyanka’s father is a Punjabi while her mother is from Jharkhand.

It’s no surprise that Katrina Kaif and Sonakshi Sinha don’t get along. While the former is Sallu’s ex-girlfriend, the latter is his current favourite co-star.
When Kat was asked by a TV channel to comment about the Dabangg actress, she gave a diplomatic answer, but the moment the camera was off, she’s learnt to have said, “Let’s wait for a few more films before giving opinions?” Ouch, we guess she’s keeping all the venom for off-camera comments!

Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar offered prayers at the Ameen Peer dargah.

Akshay Kumar arrived in a helicopter from the airport near Tirupati around 4 pm and spent about 45 minutes at the Ameen Peer dargah, locally known as Pedda dargah.

“Not many would get an opportunity to come here. I am the privileged one. I am happy to come here,” the 42-year-old actor told reporters after paying obeisance.

Ameen Peer dargah was founded by Khwaja Peerullah Hussaini who was a lineage to Prophet Mohammed. Followers of the dargah believe that any wish that one makes at the shrine is always fulfilled.

Music maestro and Oscar award winner A R Rehaman is a frequent visitor to the shrine.

Indian Films Striker will be one of the first bollywood film ever feature to be premiered on YouTube, day and date with its Indian theatrical release on February 5, 2010.

Films that are high on content but low on star value, don’t get to release theatrically in overseas markets, will get to reach a wider audiences though online release. This will help curb piracy and will also be an additional revenue model for the producers.

This will also pave the way for other Indian film companies to look outside of a conventional theatrical release towards alternate modes of distribution. By releasing this film on YouTube, Indian Films will offer Bollywood fans outside of India a high quality and on demand option for watching the latest Bollywood film.

In the US, Striker will be available for rent on YouTube. Outside the US, Striker will be available for free on Studio18′s YouTube channel: www.youtube.com/studio18. In order to ensure that the revenues from the Indian theatrical release are maximised, the movie will be not be available for the YouTube traffic originating from India.
