The new heartthrob of Bollywood Imran Khan was born on January 13, 1983 to Anil Pal, an Indian Bengali American, and Nuzhat Khanis, who is Aamir Khan’s sister. The actor rose to fame in his debut movie Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na in 2008.
His father, who works as a Director of Operations Engineering at Netflix in Silicon Valley, was a classmate of director Mansoor Khan, Nuzhat’s brother, at IIT Bombay. Imran’s parents divorced when he was one and a half years old.
Imran grew up with the surname Khan as his mother brought him up in India. However, he moved to live with his father in California, to finish high school. He then trained in film making in Los Angeles. In India, he studied at Bombay Scottish School, after Standard 4, Imran left Scottish, and moved to a boarding school in Ooty.
Imran Khan started his filmi journey at a tender age of five in his uncle Aamir’s film Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak (1988). He also featured in Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikander (1992). Both times he played the role of a young Aamir Khan.

He aspired to be a director, as that was his original plan before he entered Bollywood as an actor. Imran made his Bollywood debut as a lead actor in the 2008 film Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na, produced by Aamir Khan and Mansoor Khan and co-starring Genelia D’Souza. The film received rave reviews from critics and proved to be one of the biggest hits of the year. Imran was also nominated for Best Male Debut at the 54th Filmfare awards and won it along with Farhan Akhtar. Soon after the release of Jaane Tu… Imran became Bollywood’s new lover boy. Girls swooned over his boyish charms and cute looks. But his female fans were heart broken when Imran got engaged to his long time girlfriend, Avantika Malik, in September 2009. The two have been dating for quite some time now and are seen together at the filmi parties and other public events.
