Salman Khan’s fans are waiting to know when their superstar will get married but the fact is that the actor too doesn’t have any answer about it.

Recently when John Abraham visited on the sets of ‘Bigg Boss 5’ for promoting his upcoming film ‘Desi Boyz’, he and Salman got along very well and no differences were seen between them.

Both the actors were joking about each other and wanted to know about their marriage plans. Even people present on sets began asking John about his latest statement in which he has said that he wants to get married.

A source explained, “Everyone was really pulling John Abraham`s leg about his marriage reports in the news. John said he would like to get married and wished that it happened soon but he also told Salman to get married.”

John even told Salman to fix up his wedding date on the same day as John.

Salman replied to John, “You at least have a girl to get married to. Whom will I get married to? There`s no one yaar!”

Well! Both the actors John and Salman were very comfortable in each other’s company and no enmity was seen between them as it was reported in the past.

Akshay always brings a smile to my face the minute I see him: Deepika Padukone

Bollywood’s gorgeous actress Deepika Padukone is currently promoting her upcoming film ‘Desi Boyz’. The actress had an interview in which she talked about her co-stars, her debut in Bollywood, upcoming films, her love for food and revealed much information about herself and what does she feels about others in the industry. Excerpts…….

When you were first offered ‘Desi Boyz’, were you a bit skeptical considering the film revolves more around the 2 male leads (Akshay and John)?
No…I don’t think so. Somewhere at the end of the day whatever Akshay and John do in the film is for the girls in their lives and so in that sense it’s completely justified. More than anything I look at any film in totality and ‘Desi Boyz’ for me is a fun entertaining film which I wanted to be a part of.
You are working with John Abraham for the first time, how has been the experience?
John is a wonderful co-star. He is extremely charming, very protective of the people he works with and so he is always making sure that everyone around him is comfortable and happy and that’s a very endearing quality about him.

Tell us a bit about your character in the film?
I play Radhika Awasthy, a girl who is born and brought up in London. She is planning her dream wedding and then all of a sudden her fiancée loses his job. What they do after that forms the rest of the story.
How was it working with a new and fresh director like Rohit Dhawan?
Rohit is extremely confident and that kind of gave me the confidence to be a part of this project. He has written the film himself and hence has tremendous clarity on what he wants from his actors. To handle 4 actors and Sanjay Dutt (who has a cameo) in your first film is not easy. It’s really commendable the way he has executed the project.
So many of these stories are being circulated around about you and Chitrangda not getting along together. Why is it that such stories always get circulated when two actresses work together?
What do I say? I guess it’s because the publicist couldn’t think of anything more exciting (smiles

How was it shooting ‘Desi Boyz’ in U.K.?
I think London is now very close to my heart. I first shot ‘Love Aaj Kal’ there and then I have shot many films like ‘Housefull’, ‘Desi Boyz’ and even my forthcoming film ‘Cocktail’ in London. I suddenly feel like I know the city very well though it was freezing cold while we shot for ‘Desi Boyz’.

The music is fast catching up, which is your favourite track?
‘Subah Hone Na De…Tu Mera Hero’
With Akshay and John around, were you the victim of any of their pranks?
No…I was a part of their group in fact. It helps if you have worked with Akshay before and I know him well by now so he didn’t pull any fast one on me. I kind of became a part of their plan and pulled pranks on the other unit members.
You started off with a bang with ‘Om Shanti Om’ and then followed it up with hits like ‘Bachna Ae Haseeno’, ‘Love Aaj Kal’, and ‘Housefull’. However your last few films like ‘Lafangey Parindey’, ‘Break Ke Baad’, ‘Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey’ or even ‘Aarakshan’ didn’t quite click at the BO. Do you at any point take a pause and introspect what is probably going wrong?
Yeah…of course. I think that’s very important. Definitely it’s something that plays on my mind. I have also come to realize it does not matter how many releases you have in a year, what matters is the film doing well eventually. For e.g. In 2009, I just had one release ‘Love Aaj Kal’ but it went on to be such a huge hit that it kinda sailed me through the year. I am not complaining about the number of films I am doing but yes I should be careful about my choices. It’s really difficult to predict what will work at the BO and like most actors I too go by my gut instinct.

You are on Twitter but hardly tweet? Why so?
I am on Twitter but I only watch and read what’s happening around me (smiles). Honestly, I was forced into it before one of my film promotions. I always knew it’s not my kind of thing because I am a very shy person and I don’t believe in sharing my every move / thought with the world.

You have an interesting line-up of films. Could you briefly tell us a bit about them?
‘Cocktail’ is almost through. We just have about 2-3 weeks of work left. It’s a completely pure, beautiful love story and once again I am paired opposite Saif. It’s what I would call a film which has an Imtiaz Ali script with a Homi Adajania twist.
‘Race 2′ – I have just started shooting for the film. Abbas-Mustanji are fantastic with the thriller genre. The kind of importance they give to their female characters is simply amazing.
‘Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani’ – I am very excited about Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani. We start shooting in January. In fact I’ve wanted to work with Ranbir and Ayan together since the time I saw Wake Up Sid and I am fortunate that I am getting the opportunity now. It’s a very young happy love story.
‘Rana’ – I am not sure about the status of that film. I haven’t heard from them in a while and it’s not right to talk about the film right now.
Finally time for a quick rapid-fire… We would like you to list that one most endearing quality about all the co-actors you have worked with so far…
Shah Rukh Khan – Shah Rukh will always be my most special co-star. He made me feel so important in my first film and he along with Farah Khan really gave me a dream launch pad. Even during promotions, he put me out there and when the film became so successful he gave me a lot of credit by saying that OSO wouldn’t have been the same without Deepika.
Akshay Kumar – Akshay always brings a smile to my face the minute I see him. He is full of mischief and has tremendous energy. I think discipline is one thing we can all learn from him.
Ranbir Kapoor - Ranbir is a fantastic actor, very charming and a great friend
Saif Ali Khan – Saif is very intelligent and can have a conversation about anything and everything. I find that quality attractive about him. I like the fact that he has other interests in life apart from films.
Farhan Akhtar – There is a certain mystery about Farhan. He may not be conventionally good looking but women find him immensely attractive. He is by far the funniest co-star I have worked with. He has a great sense of humour and I think he gets that from his father.
Neil Nitin Mukesh - Neil is a buddy and someone I am really fond of. We got along really well while shooting for ‘Lafangey Parindey’. He is my 4 am friend.
Imran Khan - I was a bit apprehensive initially about shooting with Imran because I had heard a lot of stories about how picky and finicky he is. But when we started shooting for ‘Break Ke Baad’, I realized that in a lot of ways we are very similar. He has a very wry sense of humour which very few people get but he is again a friend for life.
Abhishek Bachchan – Abhishek and I bonded over food. He is a big foodie and so am I.
John Abraham - John is extremely charming. Akshay and I call him subtitle because he says one thing and means something else. He knows how to make women happy and comfortable on set. He just wants everyone he is working with to be in a happy frame of mind.

I have laid everyone’s doubts to rest now: John Abraham

Bollywood actor John Abraham is content because his recently released ‘Force’ did great at the box office. Now actor is coming up with his next release ‘Desi Boyz’ in which he will be seen sharing screen space along with gorgeous Deepika Padukone, Akshay Kumar and Chitrangda Singh. Though the actor has delivered hit recently but he is not ecstatic. He is as calm and mature as he was when his film ‘Jhootha Hi Sahi’ didn’t do well at the box office last year.

The actor says, “I guess if there were any sceptics around then they can well take a break.” He adds, “With ‘Force’, I have laid everyone’s doubts to rest now. All that I am interested in doing now is to put my head down and concentrate on work. I have nothing more to prove to anybody now and if at all there was someone whom I had to prove my abilities, it was my own self. With ‘Desi Boyz’, I guess it is now time to move ahead and present something entirely different to the audience. Reactions so far have been amazing; I couldn’t be happier.”

John’s next film ‘Desi Boyz’ is slated to release on November 25th.

There’s no harm in failing: John Abraham

Recently Bollywood actor John Abraham had delivered hit film ‘Force’ but the actor says success and failure doesn’t matter to him. During an interview, he talked about his films and personal life.

John says, “There is no harm in failing – but you need the guts to take failure in your stride. Movie chale, ya na chale, it really doesn’t bother me. Have I given it my best? Yes. That’s it for me. I’ve seen such bleak days that I wouldn’t want to be back there again, and I have seen success like no one else too.”

He adds, “I’ve done all sorts of films – from a “7 Khoon Maaf” and an “Aashayein”, to an intense “New York ” to a “Dostana” and a “Garam Masala”. Some of them worked and some didn’t. I’ve worked with the new lot of directors, who think differently about cinema, and those established names as well. I also did a film like Anurag Kashyap’s “No Smoking”, which had no commercial takers, but found critical acclaim nevertheless. I haven’t done regular stuff, and so, I must be ready for the risks that come with it. I’m at a stage where I don’t like doing regular. Regular is boring.”

Talking about his body, the actor says, “I weighed a 100 kg when I was shooting for “Force”. Now, I’m losing weight. It isn’t easy – neither building nor losing. Nishikant (director of “Force”) told me that he wanted an international action hero’s body, like Sylvester Stallone in “Rocky”. And I did that. Now, I’m eight kilos down, but for Sanjay Gupta’s “Shootout at Wadala” I will have to build up again.”

When John was asked if Gupta met real underworld people for the authenticity of his film? He replies, “Oh yes. He’s like that – meticulous. He met Dawood’s brother.”

Replying to the question whether mental strength matters the most or the physical, John says, “Mental strength – that’s the most important. Of course, the visual idea of strength, the body, also matters, but mental strength is what gives one the grit to pull through. And mental strength, for me, lies in the eyes. You can look into one’s eyes and gauge their real strength.”

Is John mentally strong? The actor says, “Yes. I have been through a lot, but now, I am a secure individual. And after 20 years in the industry, I’ve found my secure space too… If I weren’t mentally strong, I would not have ploughed on, when as an outsider.”

On being an outsider? John says, “It’s difficult to make one understand, but there’s so much of nepotism in B-wood. After a Shah Rukh or an Akshay Kumar, tell me one person not from a filmi family who has survived in the industry. Not one.”

John was further asked about his family, single status and ignoring queries about Bipasha. The actor says, “Yes, I can choose not to comment. Look at it this way: It’s more than a year to that part or phase of my life. And I am not the kind to look back. I have moved on.”

Moved on means, he says, “Moving on means exactly that. Everyone does that in life – moves on. Yes, I’m now single. And no, that doesn’t mean I am consciously seeking out potential candidates. But definitely, if I find the right woman, I would marry her tomorrow. But I am not planning out my personal life right now. I am planning my career. I have “Desi Boyz”, and “Housefull 2″ and after that, “Race 2″ and the movie I am producing, “I, Me Aur Main”.”

John wants to be known as the last action hero of Bollywood

Posted on 29 Sep 2011 at 7:00am

Many Bollywood stars such as Ajay Devgn, Aamir Khan and Salman Khan etc. have come up with stunt scenes in their films and now its John’s turn to show us some real stunts.

We have seen Aamir’s eight packs in ‘Ghajini’, Salman’s stylish stunts in ‘Wanted’ and ‘Dabangg’ and Ajay Devgn’s strong cop’s avtar in ‘Singham’ and here is John Abraham coming up with force an action packed film. But the actor says that his actions in the film are different from what we have seen earlier in Salman’s and Aajy Devgn’s film.

John said, “Salman Khan and Ajay Devgn have been doing action but when you see ‘Force’ you will know what action I am talking about. It is real action, simply amazing. My action director Allan Amin said, he has not shot this kind of action in the past 27 years of his career.”

He added, “I feel there is space vacant for the new action hero. Younger heroes are more into romcoms, seniors are more into comedies and other stuff. I want to occupy the space of action hero. I want to be known as the last action hero of Bollywood.”
