Vidya Balan won the Best Actress award for Paa

3 Idiots was declared the best film, while Rajkumar Hirani claimed the best director award. 3 idiots also won Best Screenplay Award. Rajkumar Hirani and Vidhu Vinod Chopra together won Best Story Award for 3 Idiots.

Music director Khayyam wins Lifetime Achievement Award. He has won two Filmfare Award for Best Music in 1977 for Kabhi Kabhie and 1982 for Umrao Jaan.

Nandita Das won Best Film (Critics) for Firaaq

Rekha Bharadwaj won Best Playback Singer (Female) for Genda Phool (Delhi 6) while Vishal Bhardwaj’s Kaminey won Best Visual Effects Awards.
