There is outrage over a picture Bipasha Basu posted on her micro-blogging site on Monday. The actress displayed a picture of her feet with two young girls bending over to tie her shoelaces.

She wrote, “I need to learn to tie shoe laces ASAP! Embarassed that I can’t! No patience.. grrrrr! Promise I am not spoilt! Will learn soon,” and tagged it with the picture.

This was followed by a barrage of comments about child labour. Under fire, Bips hastily deleted the tweet but forgot to erase the picture. It was only later that the photo went missing from her micro-blogging site.

‘Sorry y’all!’

She later tweeted, “Well the people helping me in the pix are my friend and sister, who I help often with the same! So am sorry if it hurt anyone’s sentiments!,” she tweeted.

Bipasha has two sisters who are grown-up, Bijoyeeta is married with a kid while Bidisha is studying abroad.

Bipasha Basu could face serious charges. The Indian Child Labour act says law breakers could face one month to 12 months in jail . According to Article 24 of the Indian constitution, “No child below the age of 14
years shall be employed to work.”

When someone tweeted the Bipasha Basu pic to Amitabh Bachchan. he replied by sayinG: “Why would you assume that these are a film stars feet ..!!”

A while back Paris Hilton was also involved in a similar situation when she had put up a tweet pic of a young girl massaging her legs. After an uproar, she had apologised.

“The picture was taken at my home. The pair of boots are a difficult pair so my sister and my friend were helping me and I thought it looked damn funny and took the picture as a joke! Don’t we girls help each other while getting ready with dress, make up, hair shoes etc? Is it something new or unheard of? A picture put for fun and humour got picked up by people as ‘child labour’ is absolutely unbelievable. Just so that all get it right: neither of the two are children. Also ‘child labour’ is a serious issue that can’t be used in such a light connotation. I wish that the ones who created such a furore and reacted immediately, actually do something worthy against child labour.”

It’s not been an easy month for Priyanka Chopra. The onus of constant promotions and marketing of her new film has fallen solely on her shoulders and that has taken its toll on her nerves. Priyanka, say people close to her, has turned snappy.
Given her habitual savour-fair and characteristic composure, it came as a shock to know that the actress got into a heated verbal duel with a man in Delhi who was out to rattle her.

That he succeeded in doing so is indicative of how anxious and nervous Priyanka has become about holding on to the formidable position of being one of the few leading ladies today who can prop up a film on her shoulders. Also, it was her identity that was being repeatedly questioned.

The incident happened in Delhi on Tuesday (Feb 15) evening at the recording of a lengthy interactive interview in Delhi. A man, apparently from Punjab, piped in to accuse Priyanka of “not being a Punjabi”.

Says a member of the actress’s entourage, “Priyanka was taken aback by the accusation. At first, she laughed it off saying she is very much a Punjabi. But the man kept piping in loudly that she had done nothing for Punjab or Punjabis. Priyanka, finally, told him to shut up and quit.”

The man disappeared from the venue soon after, but only after having spoilt the milieu and mood irreversible with his malevolent chauvinism.

Priyanka, known to be extremely warm to fans, was hurt by the vehemence of the accusation. The spokesperson for Saat Khoon Maaf confirmed the ugly incident.

“It was weird and inopportune, Priyanka’s Punjabiyat had nothing to do with the occasion. We don’t know where the man came from and where he disappeared. But the whole incident was suspicious,” he said.

Priyanka’s father is a Punjabi while her mother is from Jharkhand.

Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif have always denied being involved. But they can’t do so anymore. The duo indulged in some serious PDA on an international flight LH 576 from Frankfurt to Mumbai on Sunday night.

According to the eyewitness report, “The first class had many European businessmen, and not too many passengers recognised them. Katrina was wearing a casual T-shirt and jeans and had no make up on.

Initially she kept looking around to see if there would be any familiar Indian faces, but when she saw that wasn’t the case, she got comfortable in her seat and started talking to Ranbir.

After the flight took off, they cosied up and RK was seen planting kisses on her cheek and she didn’t seem to mind at all.”

Apart from enjoying the first class services, they also used the time to get some work done. “There were a couple of scripts piled up on their table.

They both engrossed themselves in them. At one point they were even reading out their parts out loud, as though they were rehearsing. Ranbir later called for some blankets, but neither of them were seen taking a nap.”

B-Town’s hair stylist Aalim Hakim who has worked on Ranbir’s hair feels “he can carry a pony tail with ©lan.” While Aki Narula who has styled Ranbir has given him a loud look ripped jeans, colourful shirt over a white fitted tee.
