There was a time when superstar Amitabh Bachchan and yesteryear actress Rekha was the most popular on screen couple. They have delivered many hit films in Bollywood such as Silsila, Mr Narwarlal and Muqaddar Ka Sikandar etc. They were even linked to each other in the past and didn’t work together for a long time. But recently Amitabh Bachchan admitted during a function that he is ready to work with the Rekha. He said, “If there is a good story and like it then I don’t mind working with her.”

Apoorva Lakhia of “Shootout At Lokhandwala” fame is directing the remake of Amitabh Bachchan’s 1973 super hit film “Zanjeer”. Though writers of the original film created some problem in the beginning but now matter is sorted out. But actor Amitabh Bachchan who played the lead role in original “Zanjeer” doesn’t object about it. Showing his down to earth attitude Big B wishes best for the success of film.

South superstar Chiranjeev’s son Ram Charan is playing lead role in the new “Zanjeer”. Recently Big B met with Ram Charan and director Apoorva Lakhia and explained his feelings by saying, “While on set I learnt that ‘Zanzeer’ the II was being shot on an adjoining floor and that Charan the hero and its maker Apoorva Lakhia wanted to visit me.

“Charan is a very successful star in his own right in Telugu cinema, he is the son of superstar Chiranjeevi, a dear friend. I met them and wished them well. The producer is Prakash Mehra’s son Amit… The rights belong to Mehra and they have the right to make or remake what they like. I cannot have a say in it.”

Amitabh Bachchan added, “I worked as an artist in the film and got my remuneration for it. Over! Seeking my opinion would be incorrect.. For this I can only give my very best wishes. I do hope they will make a successful film. It is a compliment to the film being remade – it was worthy of remaking when you had a hand in making the original. How many films do carry the benefit of a remake, is what needs to be appreciated also.”

Earlier it is reported that Priyanka Chopra is playing lead opposite Ram Charan and she received huge amount for working in the film.

Latest buzz in Bollywood is that Priyanka Chopra and Salman Khan will perform at the opening ceremony of Indian Premier League. The event will be held on April 3rd.

An IPL release stated that a leading international artist will also perform at the function and captains of all nine IPL team will feature at the event.

“With four highly successful seasons behind us, we hope to raise the standards of the competition even higher, as we look forward to celebrating DLF IPL 2012 with much fanfare, starting with Opening Nite,” IPL Chairman Rajeev Shukla said in the statement.

“We want to thank all the supporters for their continued support as they have made the league what it is today. We are proud to boast a lineup of big names to kick start the 2012 season in style,” he added.

IPL opening ceremony ticket charges are Rs.1500 and the event will begin at 7:30 pm but audience will be given entry from 5:00 pm.

Superstar Amitabh Bachchan also informed his fans through social networking site twitter that he will also be a part of the event.

Big B tweeted, “Asia Cup over soon and then IPL… opening extravaganza in Chennai… and yours truly a small part of it… nervous as hell!! April 3rd is the day for the opening… preparing for it already, getting back into the grind. Meeting all the Captains and teams will be such an honor. Seen all of them on TV, now personally.”

Earlier we have heard that Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan underwent an abdominal surgery. And after that the actor was taking rest. After taking a long break, Big B first time came outside his residence to greet his fans on Sunday.

Big B thanked his fans for their well wishes.

The 69-year-old actor posted on his blog, “God bless the well wishers. God bless them for their permanence in my life. God bless their consistency, their love and enthusiasm. I am indebted for life. It is a debt I shall never be able to repay; the one burden that shall remain with me unattended. One burden that shall make me happy.”

Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan always keeps in touch with his fans through social networking site. The actor will undergo abdominal surgery and update his fans about it.

He posted on twitter, “There were some medical procedures today as well for — and this is being disclosed to the Ef (extended family) at this point of time — a surgery that I shall be undergoing on the 11th morning. I do not wish to talk much on my medical condition, but trust and faith in my FmXt (extended family) allows me to do so.”

“The surgery they say is not too complicated, but then all doctors say the same as you end up on the operating table, and before long the details and the subsequent anxieties begin to rise.”

“There has been a dosage of injections intravenous that began today and shall continue for a few days… a pain in the abdomen has to be investigated tomorrow under a CT Scan and then and only then shall the ok for the surgery be given… so the next few weeks shall be full of nothing else but the hospital and medical bulletins… boring it may be but it shall be as informative as possible.”

Informing about his health issues, Big B wrote, “My stomach which has already been the bed of many complicated battles in the past, shall have to entertain this as well. It’s a war zone, my body, and one which has been through a great deal and still does,”

“I sometimes lament the fact that I do not have the benefit of a complete and ailment free body structure, and I wonder how wonderful it would be to be normal again. But this was my fate and I shall accept it with a smile.”

“I just feel blessed that despite all the encumbrances the Almighty gave me the courage to keep going has been undiluted. That courage, wrapped as it were, in the love and prayers of well wishers has pulled me through on several occasions and on this one too I solicit similar.”

The 69-year-old actor has also tweeted, “And yes before the surgery, some more tests and some more discoveries .. a damaged body shall always be subjected to such !!”

“But thank you for your concern and wishes .. I shall do my best to insure that the damage is controlled.. though not in my hands now.”

“Yes prayers and wishes needed .. hoping then that all will be well .. love”
