Bollywood’s khiladi Akshay Kumar is famous for his action scenes in his films and the actor again performed dangerous fire-stunts for Shirish Kunder’s Joker. The actor did not take any assistance and performed daring stunts without any safety precautions in place.

A source from the sets of the film informs, “Akshay said he loves doing brave stunts and it was quite up his alley as he had tried his hands at those things before.”

Professional stuntmen were available for doing the scene and the actor was warned not to do the scene himself but he played with fire.

Even his co-actress Sonakshi Sinha also advised him to not to take any risks. The source adds, “Akshay ignored her advices. Everyone on the set was holding their breath when he stepped in to perform the stunts. But he finished the shot in one take.”

When Shirish Kunder was asked about it, he says, “Akshay likes doing all macho stunts. When we started the shoot, everyone was surprised that he did all those stunts by himself.”

Akshay Kumar real life Hero – saves a woman’s life

Akshay Kumar is famous for doing his daredevil stunts in his films and recently he showed another side of his character to the world by saving a woman’s life.

Akshay didn’t want even anyone to know about the incident but those who were around during the incident couldn’t stop themselves and praised the actor for his noble deed.

If the Akshay was not there to save Nina Elavia Jaipuria, the woman could have got electrocuted.

An eyewitness explained about the incident, “Though it happened in a split second, we know what got averted. We had lit up the stage and suddenly we were told that one of the electrical circuits was malfunctioning. Unfortunately, by that time both Akshay and Nina had gone on stage and had started talking. Mending the circuit would mean that the programme had to be halted mid-way.”

Akshay Kumar informed to the staff about sparks off the circuit and also saved the woman’s life.

The source added, “We grabbed the video and realised that Akshay grabbed her just in the nick of time as she was tripping and falling down. He later made it seem as if he is hugging her on stage after he had prevented the fall. The circuit was mended soon, but it was a major accident that was averted that day.”

Chitrangda reminds me of Smita Patil: Akshay Kumar

Chitrangda reminds me of Smita Patil: Akshay Kumar

Akshay Kumar has completed 20 years in Bollywood and actor feels it was easy to get films in the beginning of his career but these days its difficult to maintain position in Bollywood because of tough completion. The actor gave an interview and talked about many things in his life, his co-actors, personal life, films etc. Here is what he has to say…….

After two decades of stardom, do you feel you are still a desi boy? Or do you feel your roots have grown distant?

I am still completely the desi boy all my friends knew at school; I just have cooler sunglasses now, that’s all (laughs). I carry my roots everywhere I go; my mother wouldn’t have had it any other way. And I couldn’t live with myself if my oldest friend told me, “Rajiv (Akshay), you’ve changed, man!”

You are paired with Chitrangda in Desi Boyz. Will this art-commerce blend be palatable?

Art and commerce have blended well. Whenever I see Chitrangda, I am reminded of Smita Patil, whose films I loved watching when I was young. Chitrangda is beautiful, and a great actress. Now, she has made a connect with commercial cinema, and will go a long way.

For five years after Garam Masala, John Abraham and you steered clear of each other. Suddenly you are doing two films (Desi Boyz and Housefull 2) together. What gives?

When we worked together in Garam Masala, I was not as friendly with John as I am now. Today, we chat and work together. We didn’t take up films together simply because we didn’t get a great script which would work for us.

Has John changed?

Akshay: The John I saw in Garam Masala, and the John I see now are very different. Not only has his physique improved but his comic timing has bettered with time.

You are the rare star who has five releases every year. How many days do you shoot in a month?

I do not work much but my films get finished in time because I report to set on time and leave at the designated hour. On Saturdays, I work from 7 am to 2 pm, after which I spend time the way I want to. I always take an off on Sunday. Every year in June, I take a family vacation because that’s when my son has holidays.

The Sanjay Bhansali-produced Rowdy Rathore’s poster seems to point to your return to action.

The Faulad ki aulad poster has created a lot of curiosity. Such posters were seen back in the 1970s. This film demands a poster like it, and dialogues like khoon bhari maang and faulad ki aulad. In my free time, I practice martial arts but it took a vanvaas from action on screen. Now, I am eager to do such films. Rowdy Rathore, Once Upon A Time In Mumbai 2 and Khiladi 786, are all packed with action.

Why did you choose to act in Himesh Reshammiya’s Khiladi 786, considering his films have not done well?

I do not go by box office success reports. The script of Khiladi 786 offers an actor a lot of scope.

Isn’t Himesh your co-star in the film too?

He has a small role; I play the title role.

So, it’s action films and comedies coming up. When do we see you in a grand romance?

Once Upon A Time In Mumbai 2 is a very romantic and passionate film although action forms a backdrop.

How integral is your personal life to your success?

Tina (Twinkle) is my greatest success! You can take away my films, my awards, my career, and I would survive, but I couldn’t live a day without my wife and son. Tina has made me a home; one I can run to any minute. I want to share the rest of my life with her.

We have seen stars endorsing social cause but Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar took a brave step to teach a lesson to a man who were throwing out an empty pack of cigarettes on the road.

Talking about the incident, Akshay Kumar said, “I had to drop my son to school. We had been talking about the numerous cars on road these days. And he was telling me how he wished that the roads were safe enough for him to cycle to school. After I dropped him, I was on my way to work.

I was sitting in my car, in the usual Juhu traffic, when I saw a driver carelessly throw his empty pack of cigarettes on the road. I sat there quietly for about 5 seconds, before I just had to get out of my car, pick up the packet and throw the packet back at the driver’s face. I dared him to throw rubbish on the ground again.

The man was very scared. He knew exactly what he had done. I know it for a fact that he will think twice before littering the streets of Mumbai again.”

He added, “This city has grown in so many incredible ways, but as long as we keep treating it with so much disrespect, nothing would matter. The economic growth would mean nothing since nobody would want to live in a place full of rubbish.

Don’t get me wrong, I love this city. But I find it hard to live in when I see people not caring enough about it.”

The actor said that everyone should try to keep the city as much clean as they try to keep their homes. He said, “If we treated the streets with as much care as we do our homes, this city would be a city to die for. I don’t understand how people who believe in God can trash the very land God has provided for us. Like this man, who was happily throwing the remains of his unhealthy habits on the streets, had this Ganpati idol sitting on his dashboard.

I cannot understand how one can pray for life and then abuse it the second the prayer is over.”

The actor said, “Believe me, I am no angel. And I am not perfect either. I drive my car daily, I fly in planes and I even leave the light on at times. But I promise my son every day when he asks me ‘How much have you done for the planet today?’ that I would do my best to conserve energy as I possibly can.

I hardly use the AC (even in the sweltering heat of October), plastic bags are banned in my home, I try to take my staff along with me in the same car to work. There are so many simple ways to make the city better. The easiest of them all is not to be a litter bug – if you use it, then bin it or clean it.”

Akshay further told that how we can keep the city clean, he said, “There are millions of people living in this city. Can you imagine how unbelievably clean it could be if we all for one day cleaned up after ourselves! We should just recycle our waste. I can’t understand how the people of a city like Mumbai don’t have the means or knowledge of recycling. Neither do we have proper street bins. No wonder people litter.”

He added, “I completely understand that our government doesn’t exactly provide us with every little thing to keep the city clean. But that doesn’t mean that we shouldn’t do our little bit. One can look at it in two ways – Mumbai has so many people that it’s dirty or Mumbai has so many people, they keep it clean. All it takes is a little care and attention.”
