Actress Prachi Desai has made an important place for themselves in the film industry. Though she began her career with TV show Kasam Se but now the actress is working with Bollywood’s famous stars.
Prachi has done ads with Salman Khan, Saif Ali Khan and Farhan Akhtar and now she is working with John Abraham, Abhishek Bachchan and Shahid Kapoor in different films.
Director Kunal Kohli cast Prachi in Teri Meri Kahaani because he liked her performances in Rock On and Once Upon A Time In Mumbai. Filmmaker praised the actress by saying, “She plays an independent, progressive girl from the 1960s, and is a point of conflict between Shahid and Priyanka Chopra. Prachi will definitely make people sit up and notice her, as she has some of the most entertaining and romantic scenes in the film. She effortlessly held her own alongside Priyanka and Shahid and is really coming into her own as an actress. She had a good run with Rock On!! and OUATIM, and now she’s doing Teri Meri Kahaani, Bol Bachchan and John’s film. Slowly and steadily, she’s making it into the big league. It’s a welcome and much-deserved entrance.”
Bol Bachchan director Rohit Shetty also praises Prachi, he says, “What I like about Prachi is that she’s extremely talented and very sincere. She is a natural performer. With time and experience, she will grow into a star. In my film, she plays a young Rajput girl who is Ajay Devgn’s sister, and the only girl in a group of pehelwans. Prachi is effortless in her scenes.” So what’s next for the 23-yearold? A film with Ranbir Kapoor would certainly be a clincher!
The Mumbai Cricket Association has decided that Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan who is the co-owner of Kolkata Knight Riders IPL team will not be allowed to enter at Wankhede Stadium for next five years because he misbehaved with MCA officials and violated rules.
MCA managing committee had a meeting to discuss action on Shah Rukh Khan who was involved in a spat with security and MCA officials after KKR won the match against Mumbai Indians on Wednesday night. They unanimously decided to ban SRK’s entry into the stadium.
During a press conference MCA President Vilasrao Deshmukh said, “If rules are violated, action will be taken. It does not depend who the individual is. It’s a message to everyone whosoever he or she may be that stern action will be taken if there is any misbehaviour.”
On the other side Shah Rukh Khan is trying to save himself by saying that he reacted strongly at the ground because he could not tolerate that security staff was “manhandling” the children.
Vilasrao Deshmukh said, “How can he go inside the ground without proper accreditation. Even I can’t go inside the ground if not invited for presentation ceremony.”
He added, “We have handed a five-year ban on him and it was a unanimous decision. It applies to any match whether domestic or international at the Wankhede.”
When Deshmukh was asked if BCCI can reverse their decision to ban Khan, he said, “We have taken a decision to protect the dignity of our association. BCCI is our parent body and we have written to them informing what had happened. We have no control over BCCI’s decision. We are also an independent body with the Wankhede being our property.”
IPL chairman Rajiv Shukla told reporters in New Delhi, “State bodies can only recommend but a final decision has to be taken by the BCCI. When the matter comes to BCCI, the Board will decide (on the ban).”
Deshmukh said that many MCA officials and Assistant Commissioner of Police were present at the time of incident and they have expressed their strong views against Shah Rukh Khan.
MCA President said, “There were a lot of MCA officials present at the time of fracas. Nothing more was needed to prove that he (Khan) misbehaved. The Assistant Commissioner of Police himself was present and he said Khan was drunk.”
About reconsidering the ban, he said, “There is no question of that. Khan did not make any representation to us, nor apologise. He could also have filed a police complaint but he did not do that.
“Whether BCCI, IPL or MCA, such kind of misbehaviour cannot be tolerated. We have also filed a police complaint and it’s upto the police to act now,” he added.
BCCI chief administrative officer Ratnakar Shetty said “The BCCI has got a complaint from the MCA. We will see to it. We will also think of some measures from the next IPL onwards to ensure that such incidents do not happen in future.”
“This is an unprecedented situation. We have never come across such incidents in the last five years at the Wankhede Stadium. It was extreme restrain shown by the MCA officials in the face of abusive language being hurled on them. They should be appreciated,” said Shetty.
Other side Shah Rukh Khan has spoken to reporters on Thursday and rejected allegation. Instead of apologising to MCA officials for his behaviour, he is asking them to apologise him. SRK said, “They should apologise to me.”
About ban from stadium, the actor said, “It won’t change my life if I am not allowed into the stadium.”
SRK admit that he abused some people present in the ground, He said: “Yes, I was abusing as they were insulting me. I will not deny the fact that I abused, was provoked when someone abused me in Marathi.”
Shahid Kapoor believes that Salman Khan is the true entertainer in Bollywood and he would never imitate him.
Recently reporters asked Shahid if he wants to be entertainer like Salman Khan, he replied, “I don’t think anybody can be Salman Khan. And I don’t think anybody should try and be like him. There is only one Salman Khan and I am sure he is not trying to be like someone else.”
The actor added, “I am a huge fan of him and enjoy his work. I am not trying to be someone else and I am trying to create an identity for myself.”
Shahid’s upcoming film is Teri Meri Kahaani in which he is paired with Priyanka Chopra.
Beautiful Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is spending most of her time with her six months old baby and her husband Abhishek is waiting for her attention.
Papa Abhishek shared his experience of handling her baby when she was too small, He says, “I can now carry her all the time, play with her, attempt to change her diapers. Ash didn’t want me to handle our baby when she was younger because it may have been awkward.”
Proud Papa adds, “Aaradhya wakes up in the night for her feeding and nappy change. Ash, who is completely clued in, is up in a jiffy. However, I must confess it took time to get used to the routine. When the baby cried, I would wake up too but couldn’t go back to sleep immediately. So Ash suggested I sleep in another room till Aaradhya was slightly older.”
Abhishek also informed that Aishwarya is completely focus on caring her baby and does everything herself and he is in the queue to get his wife’s attention. The actor says, “I can’t go on set yawning”. “Ash’s day starts and ends with the baby. Since she insists on doing everything for Aaradhya, including giving her a massage, bathing her and attending her round the clock. I’m now waiting in queue for Ash’s attention”.
Shah Rukh Khan is again in news for wrong reasons. SRK who is the co-owner of Kolkata Knight Riders IPL team has been banned by the Mumbai Cricket Association because he was involved in ugly spat with a few MCA officials after KKR won the match last night.
“He (Khan) misbehaved and abused the MCA security personnel as well as MCA officials, including our president Vilasrao Deshmukh, after the IPL match (between KKR and Mumbai Indians). We have decided to ban him for life from entering the stadium in future,” MCA vice-president Ravi Savant said.
Once high-pressure match between SRK’s team KKR and Mumbai Indian got over, this incident took place close to the boundary rope near the dressing room.
“He seemed drunk when he came to the ground at the end of game with about 40 people. When the ground’s watchman tried to stop him, he started abusing him,” Savant told to a news paper.
Savant said that the matter will be taken to the BCCI and he will demand strict action against the actor. He is also alleging that SRK abused the security personal on duty.
Explaining the incident Savant said Shah Rukh and his bodyguards first went to the teams’ dressing room and afterwards they tried to go on to the ground.
“The MCA security personnel told them they cannot do so as the match was over which led to Shahrukh abusing them as well as the MCA officials. There was manhandling too by his people. We have decided to ban him from all future matches at the stadium. We are also going to lodge a police complaint against him,” Savant said.
When asked if MCA would lodge a complaint with the BCCI about SRK’s behaviour. Savant said IPL CEO Sundar Raman and BCCI’s media manager Devendra Prabhudesai were present at the time of incident.
“Of course we will lodge a complaint with the BCCI also,” Savant said.
He added that Shah Rukh also insulted MCA managing committee member Vinod Deshpande when he tried to control the situation.
“We will be having an urgent managing committee meeting to discuss this issue. We will moot a move to ban him from the Wankhede and also file a police complaint against him,” said Savant.
Many people such as IPL CEO Sundar Raman, Yusuf Khan along with KKR’s support staff tried to pacify the Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan but all failed to control him.
Well! Now we are waiting to know more about the incident.
Sonakshi Sinha’s upcoming film Rowdy Rathore is ready to hit theatres. The beautiful actress is currently promoting the film along with choreographer/director Prabhu Deva.
While being on the sets of dance reality show Dance India Dance she praised little kids who were performing on the show. The actress said, “I am really happy to be here! Dance is my favourite thing to do in the whole world! I don’ think I can dance as good as these little ones sitting over here, but when I dance, I dance like no one is watching!”
Sonakshi has done fabulous dance songs in Rowdy Rathore along with Akshay Kumar who is playing lead role in the film.
Rowdy Rathore will be released on June 1.
Lara Dutta who became mummy of a baby girl in January this year, ready to return on silver screen soon but the actress wants to choose her role carefully.
While talking to reporters, Lara said, “I intend to get back to work by August this year. I am ready to jump in…it would be finalised soon. Since I have a daughter, the kind of movies I would do now will be different. I will be choosy…I will not do anything that would require me to be away from her for days.”
Justifying her decision to work even after being mom of the little one, Lara said, “Actresses not working after having kids is an outdated thing. We have Sridevi making a comeback after 15 years, then we have recently seen Karisma Kapoor, Konkana will also be seen in movies…that time has gone.”
Lara added, “Having a baby is a life changing experience…your priorities change and the baby becomes your focus. All decisions made are now keeping in mind our daughter.”
Lara also owned a production company Bheegi Basanti Entertainment. She already had made a film Chalo Dilli under her banner and now wants to produce one more, she said, “I will be producing another film under my banner by the end of the year. We are in the pre-production stage.”
Lara has also released three Yoga DVD in the past and she also prepared a DVD on prenatal yoga exercises. Talking about her fourth DVD, Lara said, “We shot it over a period of two days when I started my eight month of pregnancy. I think every woman during her pregnancy days must indulge in some or the other way of exercising, be it yoga, swimming, walking. All this helps later on.”
She added, “I am in the process of losing weight. Once I zero in on a right technique on this I will share it with everyone.”
Though actress Kalki Koechlin has been seen in few Bollywood films only but she chooses her roles very carefully and find hard to continue with good work. While talking to a reporter, recently, Kalki said, “I feel lucky enough to have had a good start by working in alternate niche films like ‘Dev D’ that have a different style. I have got an opportunity to work with some very good directors, but it is hard to keep up the good work.”
She added, “It is very important to choose the right kind of roles; and do not rush into grabbing projects. It is important to be patient. You might work for eight-nine months and be out of work for the rest of the time.”
Kalki has portrayed unconventional characters in her films. Now she will be seen in Dibakar Banerjee’s political thriller Shanghai which highlights the sad state of affairs in the country.
Talking about current situation of the country, Kalki said, “I think youth are getting frustrated with the sad state of affairs of the country. And they are becoming more aware of the current situation. The Anna Hazare movement was the best example of it. It had such a strong impact on the youth of the country.”
She added, “Shanghai’ talks about dreams and reality. People here talk about converting the country into Shanghai; they promise good infrastructure, good facilities, but reality is something different. There is no water, there are potholes on roads. There is a prevalent ‘chalta hai’ attitude here. It’s high time something should be done.”
About director Dibakar, she said, “He is a perfectionist and knows what he wants. He almost made me cry during the shoot. It was a month- long shoot in a small town of Latur and Baramati, where there was no proper food, no hot water, no proper resting place too. We had nothing much to do there, but that helped us stay focussed on our work and enact our scenes properly.”
She added, “He pushes people to such an extent that they are bound to give good performances.”
Kalki’s next film is Vishal Bhardwaj’s Ek Thi Daayan in which she is sharing screen space with Emraan Hashmi and Konkana Sen Sharma.
