On protecting their daughter from the media, Abhishek said, “As her parents, Aishwarya and I want our child to be happy and healthy. I was guarded from all this (media attention and showbiz world). The trade magazine and all was banned in my house. The first time I read a film magazine was when I was 18.”

He added, “This is one department (of children) where I would want the media to show restrain and responsibility. In our time social media was not there. I appeal to the media to show restrain..Don’t do this to them..let children grow up the way they want to. We want to let her (Aaradhya) grow as a normal kid.”

Praising his wife furhter, Abhishek said, “Aishwarya always knew what is the right film for her and has a knack to pick a right film that suits her. I love her as an actor. I am a big fan of her and she should be given the liberty to choose the films she wants to do”.

It is important to choose films properly: Abhishek Bachchan

Bollywood actor Abhishek Bachchan believes that if a film is not good then it can’t work even if big stars are cast in it. He also feels that he cannot achieve the stardom, his father has achieved in his four decades career.

Talking his father during an interview, Abhishek said, “One must stay in their limits only. I think one must aim for Mars… forget about reaching the Sun. It is not going to happen. It is the same with him. He is the biggest, was, is and is ever going to be. So don’t aspire to be that because it is not going to happen. Aspire to be your own man and achieve your own goals.”

Abhishek thinks that a film works when it is good. He said, “If the film is not good and even if you have Mr Amitabh Bachchan in it then also it will not work. I would love to say that (all films that dad does will be hits).. it makes a great copy. But the fact is, if the film is not good, the story is not good then nobody can save your film. So it is important to choose films properly.”

The 37-year-old actor continuously wants to work as his father does, he said, “I hope and pray that I am doing the same thing as he is. I can’t see my life without getting the opportunity to work and do films. I hope I am blessed enough that even at his age I get to be making films every day.”

On working with his father, he explained, “After ‘Paa’ we haven’t got any film that has excited both of us. We have done memorable films like ‘Bunty Aur Babli’, ‘Sarkar’, ‘Sarkar Raaj’, ‘Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna’ and ‘Paa’. So you need to do something that is going to be bigger and better than our previous films. We won’t do any film together just like that.”

Apart from his father Amitabh Bachchan, Abhishek also appreciates superstars Aamir Khan, Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan for their honesty towards their work, he said, “There is one common thing in superstars — enthusiasm and humility towards their work. Off sets they are big stars for others and they carry themselves the way they want to. When they are working they are not stars. On sets they are like making the best film and giving their best.”

He added, “When you work with senior actors you maintain that respect but when you see them working like a normal actor, you look up to them. They are concerned about getting the film right and that is very refreshing. It is very heartening to see all this.”

While talking to reporters, Abhishek said, “If you read the statement, Hrithik has requested his privacy to be respected and that is exactly what we should do. We should respect that privacy and give them strength during this trying time.”

He added, “I really feel that it will be wonderful if the media backs off and let them do what they wish to. It is very nice that he has issued a statement, his request for privacy should be respected. I will do so and so should you all.”

Apart from Abhishek Bachchan, actress Preity Zinta and filmmaker Karan Johar have also told media to not make news about the couple and they have refused to comment about them.

While talking to media at the red carpet of the Colors Golden Petal Awards, Preity said, “I have one thing to say to the media with lots of humbleness…these are very personal moments for people, and please don’t slander either him (Hrithik Roshan) or her (Sussanne). It is a very personal matter.”

She added, “I think you have to give them that space. It is very sad when everybody has their own personal comments.”

Karan too doesn’t want to talk about Hrithik’s split with Sussanne, he said, “It is too personal to them (Hrithik and Sussanne) and, therefore, personal to us. So, I feel very uncomfortable talking about, especially anything too personal to close friends on a national platform.”

Dhoom is my film and I am the hero: Abhishek Bachchan

Dhoom is my film and I am the hero: Abhishek Bachchan

Posted on 15 Dec 2013 at 2:42pm

Actor Abhishek Bachchan, who has worked in ‘Dhoom’ series says it is his film and it cannot be made without him and co-star Uday Chopra.

Abhishek and Uday Chopra have reprised their roles of Jai Dixit and Ali Akbar in ‘Dhoom 3’ which also stars Aamir Khan and Katrina Kaif.

During an interview, Abhishek said, “…Dhoom is my film and I am the hero. Nobody can take that away from me. You can be the biggest or the smallest star but ‘Dhoom’ is about Jai and Ali. It is as simple as that. If the characters of Jai and Ali are not there in ‘Dhoom’, the film won’t be there.”

It was reported that Abhishek is unhappy with the way ‘Dhoom 3’ is being promoted but he said, “You should ask the people who decide the marketing strategy which evidently isn’t me. It is my film and wherever they ask me to come I will. Obviously, I want to stand by it. If they feel there are certain events where they don’t want me to be around, what can I do about that. Do I feel bad for it?..No, I don’t give attention to these things.”

Abhishek believes that ‘Dhoom’ is such a popular franchise that doesn’t require big stars. He explained, “I think it matters from case to case. In a film like ‘Dhoom’, I think it doesn’t need any stars. It doesn’t need Aamir, me and Uday. ‘Dhoom’ has become a franchise in itself, you can have newcomers and it will do great.”

Though Aamir is appearing more on promotional events of ‘Dhoom 3’ but Abhishek does not feel sidelined. He said, “Why should I feel sidelined?..I am in the film, you can’t take me out. The audience doesn’t care whose film it is. Till date, one of the greatest film was ‘Amar Akbar Anthony’ where you had all the big heroes – dad, Vinod Khanna, Rishi Kapoor and others…It was everybody’s film.”

Talking about ‘Dhoom’ series, Abhishek said, “When we started Dhoom nobody thought it will be this monster that it is today. At that time, we were trying something new. I remember that time Adi saying to redefine the action genre, lets make it cool and make something young, have bikes and nice songs. Nobody knew that it is going to have a sequel. It has always been fun to be working on this franchise.”

Though Uday Chopra has said that ‘Dhoom 3’ would be his last film as an actor but Abhishek said that he will convince him to do the next part of ‘Dhoom’ if it will be made.

Abhishek said, “Uday had stopped acting since quite some time. It was in 2010 when he took the decision to move to LA and become producer. He has just come here to do ‘Dhoom 3′ because the character Ali is close to his heart. If ‘Dhoom 4′ happens, I will get him to do it.”

In ‘Dhoom’ and ‘Dhoom 2’, Abhishek worked with John Abraham and Hrithik Roshan who played negative roles but Abhishek is not ready to choose his favourite villain among all three.
