The buzz is that Bollywood Badshah Shah Rukh Khan will perform at the upcoming International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) Weekend. This is really good news for all Bollywood fans in Toronto.
In the past SRK has attended IIFA Weekend twice – first time in Singapore and second time in Amsterdam. He also gave performance in the Singapore show in 2004.
Wizcraft International Entertainment, the IIFA organiser, director Sabbas Joseph, declared this news at a press conference. He said, “Shah Rukh Khan will be our finale performer for this year. He is returning to perform for us after seven years, and we are very excited.”
SRK is also nominated for his film My Name is Khan. IIFA organisers are hoping that lots of fans will attend the function because of Shah Rukh Khan.
Director Sabbas Joseph said, “He is a phenomenal performer and a huge star. He hasn’t been to Canada in a long time… so the kind of expectations that fans and people have of Shah Rukh is quite something!”
Other Bollywood stars like Priyanka Chopra, Kangna Ranaut, Bipasha Basu, Saif Ali Khan and Dharmendra along with his sons Sunny and Bobby will also perform at the IIFA event.
The report is that Salman Khan is also expected to attend the IIFA Weekend because his first co-production film ‘Chillar Party’ will be shown there. It will be interesting to watch two rivals Khans there.
Lets hope that all these stars together can make up for the absence of Amitabh Bachchan. The show dates are June 23-25.
