Earlier it was reported that Priyanka is confirmed for playing lead role in Vishal Bhardwaj’s film 2 States but later on she was dropped from the film.
The latest news is that SRK insisted for casting Priyanka in the film and also convinced her for this role.
It was being reported that she has differences with Vishal Bhardwaj after acting in 7 Khoon Maaf and it was the reason of her being dropped from his next directorial project. Another reason behind her loosing that project was that character requires a South Indian and she is a Punjabi.
But Shah Rukh Khan’s recommendations worked for her.
Known from a source, “Priyanka is Punjabi. But both Vishal and Shah Rukh are convinced she can pull off the Tamilian role. They feel she possesses the versatility. And she will practise her accent. Earlier they felt only a South Indian actress could do justice to the role. But now even producer Sajid Nadiawala is convinced that Priyanka can pull it off.”
It seems talented actress Priyanka Chopra has impressed Bollywood King Khan. She has also said that SRK is her favourite actor. They are working together in Don 2 recently.
They will start the shooting of the film 2 States in 2012. This is the first time SRK has insisted on casting some actress for the film. Priyanka is also favourite actress of Vishal Bhajdwaj so he would be happy to get her back for his film.
