Ranveer to play the role of a warrior in Magadheera0 comments

It was being speculated for a long time that who will play the main role in the Hindi remake of Telugu hit Magadheera which was released in 2009. Bollywood stars like Hrithik Roshan and Ranbir Kapoor were being considered for the lead role but now Ranveer Singh has been finalized for the same.

Ranveer has signed the Magadheera, a historic love story in which he will essay the role of a warrior. Producer Vikas Bahl and director Anurag Kashyap has bought the remake rights of the film.

To prepare for his role in the film, Ranveer will work on his body. The actor has also watched the original film and he will also meet actor Ram Charan who has played the lead in the Telugu hit to get some tips from him. It is said that remaking of the film in Hindi will cost around Rs.50 crore.

When contacted producer Vikas Bahl confirmed the news by saying, “Magadheera is a passion project for us, and we are excited to have the rights to re-create this magical piece of work. Ranveer is the best thing that could have happened to it. He has all the ingredients to be a passionate lover, a warrior and an entertainer, all at the same time. All the fans of Magadheera are coming together to recreate its magic with the support of Allu Aravind, the producer of the original film.”
