Eleven members of Republican Party of India (RPI) were brought up in the Court on 10th April 2011 by Juhu Police. They were involved in stoning actor Anupam Kher’s house on Saturday.
All of them have been released on bail of Rs.5000 each. They were alleging that actor has made some insulting remarks about Constitution such as “The Constitution should be thrown out” on a TV show. But the actor is denying their allegation. Anupam Kher said that I had said there was a need to amendment the Constitution.
Activists of RPI threw stones at Anupam Kher’s house in Juhu and they also torn down the banner of Anupam’s acting school in Santa Cruz. They were arrested for causing disturbance but now they are out on bail.
Anupam Kher was not at home during the time of the incident.
A police officer said that they were keeping eyes on protesters, all of whom have been “warned against creating a law and order problem.”
