For a long time Yash Raj Films was looking for an actress who can sizzle in Dhoom 3 and now Katrina has been finalized.
Aamir Khan is also playing anti-hero character in Dhoom 3 and it will definitely be an interesting thing to see Katrina along with Aamir Khan.
“After almost a year of searching for a new face for Dhoom: 3, we were still unable to find the perfect debutante to play the lead role. We even reached out to international talent but were still unable to find someone who stood out,” said director Vijay Krishna Acharya aka Victor.
Director Vijay Krishna Acharya and producer Aditya Chopra both zeroed on Katrina.
“Once we decided to go with a known face and not pursue the newcomer route, Katrina was the obvious choice for all of us,” Victor said in a YRF press statement on Friday.
Recently Katrina has delivered two hit films like Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara along with Hrithik Roshan and Yash Raj Films project Mere Brother Ki Dulhan opposite Imran Khan.
“She is someone who we all know will bring tremendous enthusiasm and commitment to the film. The first time pairing of Aamir with Katrina will also certainly add value,” he added.
Victor who has written Dhoom and Dhoom 2 has also written Dhoom 3 and he himself is directing the film.
Though Aamir is the new anti-hero in the film but Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Chopra will been seen in their characters of Dhoom and Dhoom 2.
The shooting for Dhoom 3 will start by the end of this year and it is scheduled to release at the occasion of Christmas in 2012.
