Bollywood star Imran Khan who is ready with his film ‘Delhi Belly’ feels that drinking age bar 25 is not appropriate. He is thinking of filing a PIL against this rule in Maharashtra.

The young actor has planned to involve into the legal process later but he has informed his legal team to draft the PIL.

Imran’s publicist says that he regularly interacts with young people, he and his friends believes that this law in particular is absurd. Imran also feels that if one can marry, drive and vote at the age of 18 and can have kids at the age of 21 than why drinking age bar is 25.

Imran says, “It’s completely unfair to expect that one has to wait till 25 years of age to exercise one’s freedom of choice regarding one’s lifestyle. Young India is not as irresponsible as the older establishment assumes it to be.”

He says that while he’s not being pro-drinking, he feels that the youth should have freedom of choice in this matter as in others – echoing the long-held Times View that laws that do not keep up with the times unnecessarily make ‘offenders’ out of young people who’re mature enough, and well within their rights in choosing whether or not to have a drink. He is reportedly keen that young people get together on this issue, and take it up to prove that they’re not an irresponsible bunch.

Well! Many people were raising their voice against this rule and now Imran Khan has joined them.
