Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor is busy in promoting his upcoming film ‘Rockstar’ and during a promotional event he talked about his debut in Bollywood. Ranbir said, “I have completed four years in the industry. My film Saawariya released on 9 November, 2009. But I feel that my journey has just begun. I have worked with very good directors. And I am looking forward to working with many more.”

He also said that he has learnt a lot in the past four years, since his debut in Bollywood. The actor said, “I have learnt an important lesson in the past four years and that is to stay focused and concentrate on my work. Factors like fame, money are temporary in life. What stays till the end is the respect that we earn.”

Ranbir also praised director Imtiaz Ali and informed about his favourite Imtiaz’s film. He said, “My favourite Imtiaz film is Love Aaj Kal. He is a brilliant director. My experience working with him was amazing.”

He has played a middle class Jat bo Janardan Jhakhar in ‘Rockstar’ who wants to become a rockstar like Jim Morrison.

Talking about film and character Ranbir further added, “We all go through a lot of ups and downs in the journey of life. In the film, though it is a little exaggerated but still it is the same. I had to match up to the character created by Imtiaz.”

Ranbir talked about veteran actor Shammi Kapoor who is also featured in ‘Rockstar’ and passed away in August 2011, Ranbir said. “Shammi Kapoor was the one and only rockstar of Bollywood. My grandfather (Raj Kapoor) died when I was very young. So I considered him (Shammi) as my grandfather. We were very lucky to have him in the film. When he first came on the sets of the film he was very nervous. He behaved like a newcomer. He had a cameo in the film and he would ask Imtiaz to increase his role. He flirted with all the girls.”

He belongs to the famous Kapoor family and he said, “I have grown up in a film family. Our family is in the industry for the past 80 years. So, I know about the success and failure and the uncertainty in this profession. I don’t feel pressurised. I feel responsible and never get bogged down. I have my own expectations to fulfil.”

The actor shared his view on team work and he believed that film making is teamwork and only actor can’t take the full credit for the success or failure of the film, he said, “I don’t have a plan in life. Whatever appreciation I get I don’t deserve it all alone. I can’t take the full credit of the success of the film and like wise for failure.”

Rockstar which is slated to release on November 11 featured Nargis Fakhri opposite Ranbir Kapoor.
