It looks honest, bold and daring efforts and if one start to seeing this film they are unable to take their eyes off from it. After seeing this film one will be able to see this world in a little different way.

I am has been written by Onir, Urmi Juvekar and Merle Kroeger. Four different stories have been featured in the film and their characters are seen struggling throughout their life.

In the first story we see Afia (Nandita Das), a web designer, she wants to have a child, but her husband doesn’t agree to it. Finally he reveals her that he is in love with other women and wants to give divorce to Afia. This shattered her and she gets angry and decides not to trust a man and make her will to have a child on her own. With the help of a doctor, she finds a suitable and safe donor for her. Afia wants to meet him. But the donor doesn’t want it and he signs on documents for confirming it that he will not do any fatherly claim. Finally Afia meets the boy with a good sperm count — he is a young student from Jamshedpur (Purab Kohli). Afia has doubts whether she can do it alone or not.

The 2nd story which is set in Srinagar, it shows Megha’s (Juhi Chawla) who is a Kashmiri Pandit who has to left her home along with the other 3,00,000 Kashmiri Pundits by threatening crowds. She is annoyed with Muslim friends who stayed back in their house which is owned by her family in Srinagar so she decides to sell that house and flies there.

Megha’s friend Rubina (Manisha Koirala) picks her up from the airport. Rubina is happy to meet her old friends. Rubina and her family now reside in Megha’s home. They are old family friends so they asks Megha about everyone but Megha wants to sign the document quickly and return home, to Delhi. They talk about their old days and reasons behind not them getting married.

Many questions such as who should be angry with whom, who is better between Kashmiri Pandits and Kashmiri Muslims, who suffers more, who should be blamed etc. were raised.

The third story shows Abhimanyu (Sanjay Suri). He is a film-maker and talk about his dreams with his friend Natasha (Radhika Apte). His mother wants him to meet his step-father but he is not willing to meet him because his step-father used to sexually abuse him when he was child. When his step-father dies and Abhi goes to meet his grieving mother, he tell and ask her that didn’t she know about it.

The fourth and last story is about Jai (Rahul Bose), Omar (Arjun Mathur) and their life with Section 377 of the Indian Penal Code. They chat and make a decision to go for a drive in search of a private place. But their life changes afterwards.

Director Onir has really chosen four different strong stories. He directed all of them brilliantly.  All the actors have also given their best performances.
