Today India is celebrating its 65th Independence Day. At this occasion Bollywood star Hrithik Roshan says, “Today we need to stand united, I love my country! Love for anything should not divide, it should always unite us!”
He further adds, “I really would want to create and shoot an anthem with all the flags of the world. That film would be played in cinemas across the world before a movie begins and have all the people from various countries stand up for each other’s flags as ‘One World’. Can you imagine how that would unite us! Can you see the pride in that! How beautiful that would be!”
Hrithik also said that though our country has got freedom but we are individually not free in our minds because we judge ourselves with what other comments. He says, “Today most of us are governed by a different kind of tyranny – of what the society will say.
“Freedom is to be free to just be yourself. We must recognise ourselves with all our imperfections, and know that everybody else is just the same. We need to love, live and let live.”
Hrithik shared his thoughts on Independence Day and talked about his experience with reality show contestants. He says, “Coming from various castes and creed, these beautiful people performed together for India. And I laughed, cried, danced and even sang, though completely out of tune, but in the true spirit of freedom – I didn’t care a damn.”
