Bollywood actor Govinda is a well established star in the industry. Everyone knows him as an actor and former MP.
His fans know him as a hero but in the view of his brother in-law, he is more than a villain.
Govinda’s brother in law is producer Praveen Khanna, he is married to his elder sister, Kamini. He has filed a case against Govinda and alleged that he hit him and threatened to kill him. This incident occurred last week during a meeting of the Indian Motion Pictures’ Producers Association (IMPPA) in Mumbai.
“Govinda abused me in the filthiest language and pushed aside the committee members. He tried to hit me with a water bottle and threw a plate full of sandwiches at me. He even threatened to kill me,” says Khanna, 59.
Fight between Govinda and his brother in law started in 1996. Producer Praveen Khanna launched a film titled ‘Dil Laga Ke Dekho’ which was starring Govind in the lead. But due to financial problems between him and Govinda, Govinda refused to finish the shooting of his film. Finally film was put on hold in 2003. Khanna filed a complaint against Govinda with IMPPA in 2009 but Govinda never appeared for hearing, it was only last week when the actor appeared first time for the hearing and this incident took place between them.
Though Govinda is not saying anything about the incident but his secretary Shashi Sinha denies it, he says, “Yeh insaan (Khanna) jooth bol raha hai. He is the one who started abusing Govinda and accused him of cheating.”
Govinda’s daughter, Narmmadaa, too, supports her father and says, “Don’t pay heed to what that man is saying, woh aadmi kuchh bhi bolta hai.”
Ragini Khanna, a famous TV actor is daughter of producer Praveen Khanna is not willing to comment about it.
