Before the release of Dum Maaro Dum, the movie was in news for all wrong reasons. Now it has got a very good collection of Rs. 16.5 crore in the first week of its opening. It is also being considered as Abhishek’s first most important hit film after Dostana and Paa. These days everyone is appreciating Abhishek Bachchan’s performance in the film.
Dum Maaro Dum was made on the budge of Rs. 22 crore which does not include the cost of print and promotion. Now it has collected Rs.16.5 crore in its opening weekend. Co-producers Fox Star Studio explained, “We have had a rocking weekend. Dum Maaro Dum collected Rs 5.4 crore on Friday, Rs 4.7 crore on Saturday and Rs 5.6 on Sunday. Apart from this, we also collected Rs 80 lakh by way of paid previews.” CEO of the studio Vijay Singh added further, “DMD is Abhishek Bachchan’s third biggest opening of all time after Dhoom 2 and Dostana. The film is doing quite well in most centres.”
