Bhumika Chawla and Bharat Thakur got married in October 2007. Actually, they were regarded very different couple because husband was considered ‘showy and extravagant’, on the other side Chawla kept a rather low profile.
The news is that the actress who made her Hindi debut along with Salman Khan in 2003, has filed for divorce from her yoga instructor husband Bharat Thakur.
Reportedly, the couple has been living separately since March 2010. On Bharat’s insistence, Bhumika started a production house, green lighting the firm with a flick called ‘Thakita Thakita’ that bombed rather badly leading to losses worth crores of rupees. Besides, insiders insist that he also got her to invest in a Dubai business venture that also bit the dust. Both factors are also responsible for making the matter worse between the two of them.
A close source said, “In February 2011, Bhumika filed a police complaint against Bharat in Hyderabad.”
Expectedly, Chawla was swift to deny such talk, rubbishing it all as mere gossip.
Says Chawla in a media quote, “It’s like Chinese whispers. One paper writes something and the others follow suit, without verifying matters. We’re fine, thank God.”
The actress says that she was with her husband in Dubai for two months and is currently in Mumbai, as her mother underwent a heart surgery. For the moment, sources close to the couple says that “they have been having differences for quite a while.”
