Asin Thottumkal shifted to Mumbai three years ago. She used to work in Kollywood film Industry and was in top positions there. But she moved to Mumbai in the hope of getting films in Bollywood. So far she has acted in hit films such as Ghajini and Ready along with Aamir and Salman.
Even after acting with big stars, currently she just has one project in her hand. A trade source says, “She has just one film, Housefull 2, in which she will share screen space with Zarine Khan and Jacqueline Fernandez.”
Though there was some rumour of her working with SRK in Vishal Bhardwaj’s film Two states but so far there is no progress on this project.
She is young, talented and had done good films so far but it seems she is going nowhere in Bollywood.
From Kollywood also she is not getting film’s offers. She just has a film with Kamal Haasan and earlier this year she delivered a hit film Kaavalan which was an old commitment of her. The new actresses such as Deepika, D’Cruz and Sonakshi’s are in demand these days.
In Bollywood, she refused offers from filmmakers like Ashutosh Gowarikar because she didn’t have a prime role in Vipul Shah’s London Dreams which made her sad and she didn’t work for a year and wasted her time.
Her recent film Ready with Salman Khan is breaking records at the box office but she doesn’t have more films with Salman Khan. He is committed of working with other actresses such as Sonakshi Sinha in Dabangg 2 and Katrina Kaif in Ek Tha Tiger.
A top ranking producer says that he wants to cast Asin but she has three things going against her. One, she is demanding to be paid as much as Kareena Kapoor and Katrina Kaif, two, there is reportedly too much interference from her close ones and three, though she is dependable, she brings no novelty to a project.
