Actor Anupam Kher’s house was attacked by activists of the Republican Party of India. Activists were shouting slogans and throwing stones at the Kher’s house.

They are alleging that when Anupam Kher were talking about Anna Hazare’s andolan to a T V Channel on Friday he said that the Indian Constitution should be thrown out.

Around 10 RPI workers stoned his house at 8 pm in Juhu. A case has been registered against them and they have been detained.

At the time of incident Anupam Kher was not inside his house. His gate was shut by the security guards when activists began shouting slogans.

When RPI leader Ramdas Athawale was contacted he told The Hindu over phone that the activists had registered their complain against Mr. Kher’s comments on Indian constitution.

He wanted State Home department to inquire into the actor’s comments.

Mr. Athawale said, “Mr. Kher is an actor. We all respect him. But his remarks were inappropriate. And it is sad that they came in the context of Anna’s agitation. If someone insults our Constitution, our activists will not take it lying down.”
