Recently Akshay Kumar reveals a secret about him. He informed that he owns a one bedroom flat in Chandni Chowk and sometime he comes to stay there.
We have heard Akshay Kumar talking about Chandni Chowk many times because when he was not actor he used to live in Chandni Chowk but later on he shifted to Mumbai.
He was on official visit to the capital he told that he still comes to his one bedroom flat in Chandni Chowk and stays there.
Akshay Kumar Said, “This is an official visit so you know about it. Otherwise, I come to Delhi quite often because I have a house here. I come quietly and stay a night there and leave in the morning. Aaram se aata hoon, Chandni Chowk ki galiyon mein chala jaata hoon and then I stay there. I have a one bedroom flat there. That’s where I came from, that’s the place I belong to. I come because kabhi kuch kaam hota hai ya rishtedaaron se milna hota hai. . I wear a cap to cover up and nobody comes to know.”
Akshay also believes that this place in not changed even after so many years. He says, “Chandni Chowk hasn’t changed. The wires are still hanging on top. It’s amazing how the whole thing survives – it goes on… ram bharose. Har jagah itni safety measures hote hain aur aag lag jaati hai, par wahan kabhi aag nahi lagti.”
He also informed about the places he likes to visit in the capital. Akshay says, “I love having the langar at Sheesh Ganj Gurudwara and always go to the fuwarra too. I love Natraj ke bhalle and there’s another place I love to go to for my breakfast but I don’t remember the shop’s name.”
When he was asked that whatever he is saying that is unbelievable, Akshay replied, “Agar aap Chandni Chowk mein suit pehen ke nikloge, then toh it’ll never be possible. But if you do it quietly, bheed mein bhi pata nahi chalta. In Mumbai too I go to watch movies with my family at the theatres. Just before the movie is about to start, my wife, my son and I quietly slip into the hall. I have to watch every movie in a theatre. Exactly three minutes before the movie is about to end, I leave. So, I always have to ask others about the climax – villain mara ki nahi?”
Though Akshay behaves like a common man but still he loves his star status. He says, “I also enjoy my private jets and my royal presidential suites, and at the same time I enjoy Chandni Chowk, my walks on Juhu Beach in the morning as well as going to the mall. Mera mahina ka kharcha `5000 hoga – that’s the money I spend on myself. I don’t have any kind of want for something.”
