AR Rahman’s Australian concert, slated for January 16 in Sydney, has been declared a ‘vehicle free event’, a first for a concert in the country. The organisers and the police felt that an expected turn out of about 70,000 people at the event would cause major traffic jams in Sydney, bringing the city to a halt. Said a source, “About 70,000 people are expected to turn up. The cops advised the organisers to make the event a vehicle-free one.
