Bollywood actress Vidya Balan has delivered back to back hits in Bollywood with The Dirty Picture and Kahaani. The actress is enjoying her success. The actress was in capital to endorse snacks Aliva and while talking to reporters, she said, “I am enjoying my stardom. I have evolved as an actress and a human being too. I was a shy girl but now after portraying bold roles on-screen, I have become more outgoing.”
In the beginning of her career Vidya did a TV serial Hum Paanch. Her first Bollywood film was Parineeta which was hit at the box office. Though she did many hit films after that but the actress always desires to do a double role. She said, “I have played various characters so far from saucy Silk to coy Lolita and I always wanted to play double role on-screen like Hema Malini and Rekha. But, we don’t have double roles for some reason in films anymore.” But now Vidya’s dream will be fulfilled because she will do double role in Aliva’s commercial. One side she will be seen as her character was in Parineeta and the other side she will be seen in her sexy look of The Dirty Picture.
Vidya adds, “The commercial took me back to my ‘Parineeta’ days. For a long time, people wanted to see me in the look of Parineeta. And they didn’t think I was capable of much else. They wanted me to become a stereotype. But, I am happy that my audience have accepted my films with open arms.”
Recently trailer of Saif-Deepika starrer film Cocktail released. Though the theme of the film is different but people will compare the film with Saif-Deepika’s 2009 hit film Love Aaj Kal but the actress clarifies that storyline and her character is completely different in it.
While talking to reporters, Deepika said, “The minute people see Saif and me together, they will think about Love Aaj Kal. Yes, of course, Imtiaz has written the script, but it is directed by Homi Adajania who had earlier made Being Cyrus.”
About Cocktail storyline, she said, “Yes, it is a love story, but it is also about friendship, betrayal, fun and trust. So I think in terms of the film, it is very, very different.”
Deepika is playing the role of Veronica a bold girl and will mouth some bold dialogues. Justifying her character, she said, “I am not the film’s writer. The dialogues were written based on the character that I am playing. Veronica is a very confident girl. She is very self-assured.”
When asked why she chooses to play Veronica?
Deepika replied, “Love Aaj Kal was a very different role for me. In this film, I was offered both the roles. My producer Dino (Dinesh Vijan) was kind enough to offer me both the roles. He said that you choose which one you want. I took it as a challenge and Imtiaz (Ali) also suggested to me that since Meera from Love Aaj Kal is so similar to the other character in the film, it would be interesting for me to play Veronica.”
She added, “I am so glad I went with that because when the trailer released two days ago, the response has been fantastic. What people are also reacting to is the fact that they have not seen me play something like this or look like this on-screen.”
Reports are that all is not well between Bollywood actress Karisma Kapoor and his husband Sunjay Kapur. They tied the knot in 2003 and since then many times it has been reported that their married life is not smooth.

Karisma was not Sunjay’s first wife, he divorced fashion designer Nandita Mahtani before tying with the actress.
Adds the source, “Sunjay has expressed his desire to get married again. So it is obvious that he will be legally parting ways. Karisma is aware of what is happening and so are her folks. She is keeping a brave front. Both the parties concerned are keen to tackle the situation in a quiet way without any media glare.”
Karisma’s latest released Dangerous Ishq did not do well at the box office. The actress even refused to answer questions about her marriage during promotional events.

About celebrating the baby’s arrival, Ra said, “For now, we will first go home when the doctors discharge Shilpa. She will rest first and then we will decide.”
Ram Gopal Verma’s latest film Department flopped at the box office. The director is blaming actor Sanjay Dutt, producer Dharam Oberoi for this box office disaster. Recently director Ram Gopal Verma had an interview and he pointed out that why film didn’t do well at the box office. Excerpts of the interview.
Why did you wait for Department’s release to vent your anger and discomfort with Sanjay Dutt and Dharam Oberoi?
It is dangerous to start changing the content and screenplay midway through a film because it is so easy to lose your objectivity. So when they compelled me to do that by using various coercive forces halfway through the film since I was anyway stuck, I had a professional commitment to finish the film and had to wait until now.
Isn’t it a blame game going on after the film crashed?
I am not blaming anyone except myself. The biggest mistake I made was to go to an actor as unprofessional and as unimaginably erratic as Dutt.
There were problems with Sanjay Dutt and co-producer Dharam Oberoi even during the making of the film?
The problems were innumerable, ranging from Dutt’s coming late to last-minute cancellation of shoots and schedules to erratically wanting to change the content of scenes in the name of creative discussions that are not to be confused with mindless interference. Aamir and me had creative differences during Rangeela but I didn’t pay heed to the mistakes he pointed out. Despite Rangeela becoming a blockbuster, when I saw the film much later, I felt I had gotten away with the mistakes that he had pointed out. I genuinely believe Rangeela would have been a bigger hit had I listened to Aamir. The difference being Aamir’s suggestions and observations came from a long and intense deliberation on his part and not like Dutt who was blurting out without thinking, encouraged by the likes of Dharam who pander to him for their personal benefits.
You have said Dutt forced you to drop Kangana from the film and also interfered in the screen play?
Yes. Dharam told me Sanjay wanted Kangana to be dropped and since it’s a predominantly male-dominated action film, I didn’t want to make an issue. I also wish Sanjay Dutt realises what Dharam talks behind his back and for his sake, I hope he distances himself from Oberoi before it is too late.
What difference would Kangana have made to your film?
It’s not about the difference and like I said, that’s the reason I didn’t make an issue. It’s about the way Dutt behaved.
Apparently, Dutt had concerns about the cameras you were using?
Not only him, even Amitji and Rana had but when they saw the quality of the film, they were happy and they spoke about it in the media too. In fact, Amitji spoke about it as the future of cinema even after the release and the reviews. The problem wasn’t about using the cameras but the way they were used in terms rapid panning, some unseen angles and some deliberately jerky moments. However, these were hardly eight to 10 shots in the film. Otherwise, usage of these cameras is prevalent the world over, including in the Oscar-winning Slumdog Millionaire.
Apparently, Dharam made additional money. Did he take a commission for casting Sanjay Dutt that was over and above his payment?I wouldn’t like to comment on that but I guess, the concerned people know.
And while you’ve said with respect to Department that you don’t make films for critics, we’d like to ask you whether you don’t make films for the box office either?
Why would any director, be it me or Sriram Raghavan or Ashutosh Gowariker, want to make a film that doesn’t work? Why would I want all my time and effort to be wasted? Whether anyone believes it or not, I work with the same passion on every film. Only, I seem to have more bad films simply because I make more number of films.
On Monday night, you sent a message to Abhishek Bachchan saying, “You brought this disease into my life by recommending Sanjay Dutt”. Comment.
No messages happened between Abhishek and me with regard to this but the truth is that when Abhishek was supposed to do Rana’s role, it was he who convinced me about Dutt against my better judgement. Later on, he couldn’t do the film and I was left with Dutt. So I definitely blame Abhishek for making me go through this though it was unintentional on his part.
While you’ve made landmark films, people say you’ve lost focus. Comment.
Since everyone has a mouth, everyone will have an opinion. The people who work with me know how focused I am and so I would advise people who are not concerned with me to rather focus on themselves instead of focusing on my focus.
Aamir Khan’s TV show Satyamev Jayate is not only changing lives of million people but it is also inspiring government to take action against issues raised in the show. Earlier Aamir raised the issue of child sexual abuse and he informed people that the bill targeting the offenders is pending in the parliament.
But now the bill has been passed in the parliament and Aamir is thrilled with the news, he posted on social networking site Facebook, “Hey guys, great news! The Lok Sabha has passed the Protection of Children Against Sexual Offences Bill today!!! Unbelievable!!! Super News!”
Aamir showed many victims and their family who explained that how they were molested or sodomised during childhood.
The actor also thanked his guests for appearing on his show, he posted, “I want to thank the brave survivors who came on the show today to share their stories. Anamika, Cinderella, Harish, Ganesh, Nazneen and Padma Aunty (Harish’s Mom), Y’all have done a great service to all of us.”
Well! Aamir, keep the good works going on. You are the true hero of Indian Cinema.
The first look of Amitabh Bachchan’s Hollywood debut film The Great Gatsby is released. Big B is looking great along with Hollywood stars Leonardo and Tobey. Bollywood superstar looks classic because of beard and moustache.
Amitabh Bachchan praises actors and the director Baz Luhrmann for making this film. He posted on his blog, “I still do not have the liberty to talk of the film in a personal capacity. Contracts bind me, but this I can say that it was a sheer delight to work with someone of such great genius as Baz Luhrmann and a host of co-stars that have astronomical presence in the world of cinema – Leonardo DiCaprio and Tobey Maguire and the other greats.”
He added, “And everyone works as a family and a large portion of this attitude should be credited to the master of the scenario, the director Baz Luhrmann.”
About The Great Gatsby, he said, “The attention to detail, the amount of research and finesse on recreating the ‘times’ of NYC in the those early years, was simply brilliant.”
“I am certain that when you shall see the film, you will realise that you have indeed been transported to another decade of the early years with such authenticity that you begin to feel as though you were present there yourself.”
Big B talked about professionalism prevails in Hollywood, he said, “There is a quiet sense of professionalism that works without notice and corrects or adjusts or informs when and if there is need for it. They are the crew, the costume, the hair and the properties people. The language and accent director, the assistants who shall come and ask you to be on set, or if on it to be ready for the take.”
He added, “The other factor of course is the dedication that all the crew and actors have towards the script the film and the production. Leonardo and Tobey would be more than willing to rehearse if you demanded it and would give each rehearsal the same deliverance as they would, were they to be asking for one themselves.”
Actor Shahid Kapoor’s shoe was troubling him during the shooting of Teri Meri Kahaani but the actor was thorough professional and continued his shoot despite getting cuts on his feet and being in pain during the shoot of the film.
Shahid wore Juti or the Indian Mojri for his one of the character in Teri Meri Kahaani but he suffered shoe bites.
Sharing his shoe bite experience, Shahid said, “I had a lot of shoe bites when I wore them for the first time. It takes a long time for your feet to get used to them. I used to stuff cotton on my ankles and bandage my feet before I could wear them. I had cuts all over my feet within the first few days. It was one painful experience.”
The actor also shot a song wearing the Juti. He said, “More so because I had to dance with them on for a song. It used to come off my feet and fly. Kunal would often say — ‘It’s a nice shot but let’s go for one more take as the juti has flown away.’
He added, “I don’t think I will wear them for a long time to come.”
Shahid’s upcoming film Kahaani will hit theatres on June 22 and the actor has been paired with his ex-girlfriend Priyanka Chopra.
Bollywood actress Sonakshi Sinha will mostly be seen in traditional dresses in her upcoming films such as Rowdy Rathore, Lootera, Joker, Dabangg 2 because the actress is not comfortable in wearing short dresses and specially doesn’t want to do any bikini scenes in her films.
Recently Sonakshi revealed that she would never wear bikini in her films. She said, “It’s a complete no-no to bikini because I am not that kind of a person. I have been bought up in a certain way. I have certain restrictions that I follow and I don’t see any reason to change it because if the audience has accepted me fully clothed, then why would I resort to it?”
She added, “I am a normal Indian girl who wears jeans and T shirts normally. Born and brought up in Mumbai, so I am used to wearing clothes like that.”
Most of the Bollywood beauties such as Kareena Kapoor, Bipasha Basu, Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukone are comfortable wearing two pieces on screen but Sonakshi is not willing to do it.
Even Sonakshi recently said that she appreciates Vidya Balan’s performance in The Dirty Picture but she doesn’t think if she can ever give bold performance like her.
The young actress is currently promoting her upcoming film Rowdy Rathore in which she has been paired opposite Akshay Kumar.
